The Company

Technology transfer from label printing to the entire web-processing industry.

About us

Printum Technology GmbH
Engineered & Built in southern Germany

We are a mechanical engineering company from Ravensburg founded in the early 1990s. It all started with a cooperation with the Danish manufacturer of label printing machines Nilpeter.

At the time, Printum had modernized and expanded used label printing machines from Nilpeter. Due to increased demands on the quality of the labels, there was a demand for special machines for further label finishing at the end of the 1990s. This changed the focus from retrofitting printing machines to the development and construction of special machines for the production of multilayer and technical labels.

Some of the processes and technologies used in label converting are also required for the manufacture of products in other web processing industries (coating, laminating, printing, die-cutting, cutting, dispensing, etc.). In 2010, Printum began to transfer its accumulated know-how to new markets.

It’s always amazing to think about the industries in which materials are processed from the roll every day: From membrane technologies in the medical and electronics sectors to flexible photovoltaic cells on old town facades and flexible packaging for e-commerce.

In 2020, Andreas Weigel and Manuel Friedmann took over the company as part of a company succession – Printum GmbH became Printum Technology GmbH.

Today, we are the preferred innovation partner for rotary converting solutions for processing narrow web rollstock.
