Fully automated material analysis and surface inspection

Our fully automated inspection and testing system sets new standards for precise material testing and surface inspection. When it comes to inspecting highly sensitive web materials such as catalyst coated membranes (CCM) for PEM fuel cells or electrolysers, the lowest web tension is required to avoid damaging the surface structure during the inspection.

The smooth-running and control components used enable “linerless” testing of sensitive materials and thus offer an optimum basis for various test methods.

The advantages of the inspection machine

  • Test parameters can be determined and optimized upstream of production. The overall development process is thus significantly accelerated.
  • Liner/backing can be dispensed with due to the low web tension ➔ material savings!
  • Smooth running for minimum web tension: minimal breakaway torque, low friction
  • All controllers and components are designed for lowest web tension. Acceleration ramps are optimized for the low trains.
  • The parallelism of the rollers is measured optically
  • Precise winding is ensured even with the lowest web tension via web center control of the unwinding and rewinding components.
  • Space for further customization: Placeholders offer the possibility of integrating further optional test methods, such as X-RAY sensor technology and ultrasonic layer thickness measurement.
  • Connection to an MES, PPS etc. is possible
